This is 512 bytes of nonsense, since the Firefox 2 developers and IE7
developers and Safari RSS developers decided that they would make
obsolete declared XML styles by overriding them without permission.
Their own styles seem to be of varying quality, and importantly do not
integrate Feedburner's services, which hopefully are of real use to
subscribers and potential subscribers. Therefore, we use this unofficial
workaround, which consists of filling up the first 512 bytes of a
document so that the sniffer doesn't encounter the RSS tag in time to
autodetect it. Now, without further ado, we present you with a valid
XML feed, presented in the manner we have chosen to offer it.

Preface:

Title III of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Amendments Act of 2008 required the Inspectors General (IGs) of the elements of the Intelligence Community that participated in the President's Surveillance Program (PSP) to conduct a comprehensive review of the program. The IGs of the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence participated in the review required under the Act. The Act required the IGs to submit a comprehensive report on the review to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the House Committee on the Judiciary.

In response to Title III requirements, we have prepared this unclassified report on the PSP, which summarizes the collective results of our reviews. Because many aspects of the PSP remain classified, and in order to provide the Congressional committees the complete results of our reviews, we also prepared, and have bound separately, a classified report on the PSP. The individual reports detailing the results of each IG's review are annexes to the classified report .

Writing in Roll Call earlier this week, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee John M. McHugh stated, "Republicans in Congress appreciate the administration's efforts to shape the [Defense] Department so we can more effectively fight the wars our troops are engaged in today. However... we remain deeply concerned about the trade-offs involved in the so-called rebalancing of the Pentagon." Given the current political realities, what role will Republicans play in shaping future U.S. national security policy? Read Representative John M. McHugh's address on U.S. National Security.

Right now there is considerable debate in this city about the measures our administration took to defend the American people.

Today I want to set forth the strategic thinking behind our policies. I do so as one who was there every day of the Bush Administration - who supported the policies when they were made, and without hesitation would do so again in the same circumstances.

Haass contrasts the decisions that shaped the conduct of two wars between the United States and Iraq involving the two presidents Bush and Saddam Hussein, and writes an authoritative, personal account of how U.S. foreign policy is made, what it should seek, and how it should be pursued.
